Phantom of the Opera season opener was on Saturday. The Phantom has clearly been working out, which means he's now of the proper Phantom shape, but leaves his trousers hanging like sacks over his legs :> The Amazing Vampire Raoul got carnations with a card with vampire fangs drawn on it, which he promptly displayed to the rest of the cast. Ooops. Should have drawn a smaller card ;)
I'm also trying very, very hard to kickstart my ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) x2009 story. I hope this meme helps me get my creativity on, if I have any takers *bats eyelashes*

I've been writing fanfic sporadically at best over the past year or so, but that doesn't mean I haven't been writing. Several original projects are circling at the edge of my consciousness; Roses for Lucifer are threatening to blossom into something even bigger; and of course there is the cowritten soap opera that I promise will be available for consumption. Soon. I've got it all saved until mid-July, all 400 scenes of it!
In the meantime, meme - and even though I haven't posted anything with them yet, I'd love if someone asked about POTC characters. I may have signed up for a ficathon, and this time no Project From Hell on the horizon to interfere with it :)
Name a character that you know I write or have written (or roleplay or have roleplayed), and I’ll tell you:

1. If you could suddenly speak one language fluently (that you don't currently speak) what would it be?
I'm torn. Spanish would be nice, as would Russian, but both are well within my grasp if I find the time and motivation. All in all, I'd probably go with Japanese. I enjoy the popculture too much.
2. If you were to suggest a foreign film, that you really enjoyed, what one would you suggest?
Define foreign ;) I was very fond of Nagisa Oshima's Gohatto (Taboo).
3. If you had to call another country home (other than the one you currently live in) what one would you choose?
Either Britain, France or Austria. Capital city of each; I'm a city creature.
4. If you went out to buy an import music CD, what one would you buy?
With an unlimited budget - one of Maki Ichiro's solo CDs probably :) Girl's got voice.
5. If you were to chose an ethnic dinner, what would it be?
Japanese, Korean or both - there are some good Japanese/Korean restaurants here. Kimchi goes well with sushi. |

1. When I was three years old, I almost lost my eye; I still have a faint scar under it where the eighteen stitches went.
2. I collect scary plushies. The latest addition is a plush dragon from Cracow.
3. My desk at work is a singular anomality for pens. They disappear and turn up at the strangest times.
4. When told to check the weather in the morning, I click through to ICM rather than get off the chair and take a look at the thermometre.

Had coffee with maggiehoneybite, who's alive and well. trixie_chick wrote me a lovely Yami no Matsuei drabble :). And look, this meme's going around again. Anyone?
If you've ever watched your favorite DVDs, and then found yourself eager to hear exactly what the actors, directors, writers and even production designers thought about making the episode, the movie, or whatever - you'll know sometimes the best parts of DVDs are hearing the commentaries. Getting into an actor's feelings about the character they play, getting the background behind a writer's plans and metaphors, even just getting the stupid anecdotal stuff that makes you laugh, it's all good.
Ask me about any story, and I'll do a DVD commentary for it! Satisfy your curiosity!

For some values of interesting, of course.
Inability to recognise faces as a disease (NYT Bugmenot ID) - not only interesting as a fictional idea, but bloody annoying. I think I might have a minor version of it - it's very hard for me to tell faces apart if they're the same type. Onscreen, fine, but on the street, I could walk past Johnny Depp and not notice.
Materazzi/Zidane slash. It had to happen. And it's amazingly well-written in a gritty and real way, saving some capital letters.

I did see X-Men: The Last Stand, but it left me surprisingly meh. Lovely acting, but the script could use work and the directing definitely could - there just wasn't the magic of the last two movies. Respectable amounts of slashiness though. Charles/Erik 4EVA.
Today's the first day of chilly sun after three days of chilly rain. And I can't decide whether to cut my nails today to help in typing the thesis, or keep them vampire-long until tomorrow's album promo event.
