The wonder of creativity
Half the fun of visual design, for me, is getting sidetracked in all the little things. After a whole day devoted to layout (conclusion: width fixed in ems, single-column, sidebar widgets in a horizontal container between the banner and the main layout), now it's colour choices and colour theory. For the LJ redesign I'm considering, I've promised fyrie that I'll have a Maki Ichiro layout to match her Saki Asaji one. To match the picture, I'll need colours a little more varied than my current black and white. Cue way too much fun with online Pantone swatches.

Below, a quick mockup of the current top-runners. Saturation may still get put down, and I think I might opt for a grey background with the deep purple used for flourishes on it.

	Yay for no strike! I don't careeee about strike,blah blah blah! acts like a brat xD I like the color palette you chose, very calm, I like surruounding myself with deep, dark and calm colors. Walls in my room are brown! ;D (Reply to this) (Thread)

	My room is so small, there is no choice but white, otherwise it'd be a cave :) But I still like dark colours... deep green is a favourite. (Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

I asume you don't get Easter off in your evil corporate company....? I have easter break until next Wednesday, so let me know if you could make some time before that! :D If not, let's meet on the weekend you mentioned above. Probably I'll see the movie before that date, but we can always do something else that's fun! :D
BTW, I wonder if you've heard from Astarise~ I wonder how she is! *^^*

	I do get Monday off, but I have family over :) We'll see what else is in the cinemas, or maybe it'll be warm enough that the cherries bloom and we can just walk in a park? Exactly. So just because some crazy RPers can no longer create an unlimited numbers of basic journals that they will afterwards abandon or forget about (I mean, I get having two, or even ten, but anything above that is far too much for me to comprehend - no offence meant), and not being able to post kiddie porn, it doesn't mean things aren't better. They are, and it shows.

	Not to mention that the pr0n thing was never allowed ;) And it looks like the RPers will be able to create their basic journals anyway, once SUP works it out. Really, storm in a teacup. 	What's that about? doesn't keep up with anything I'm just not posting so far because I'm trying to do Other Things, like pack. I'm totally not keeping from commenting, though. 	Apparently half the Russian opposition against SUP is because the management is (or is rumoured to be) Jewish. I'm... sort of knee-jerk on that point, especially in this country, and with my last name, even though as far as my grandfather had been able to find, the last Jew in that line was on the records around 1860. Right. Sweet. I think I want no part in that.

So far SUP has seemed to handle things better than Six Apart, for what little I have followed. I'd rather only protest if there's something really serious to protest about. And hmm. Back when I joined LJ, you needed to have an invite code or get a paid account right away. So somehow this doesn't seem like such a huge deal. And maybe it was bad tactics not to announce it beforehand, but on the other hand, if they had, lots of people might have stocked up on paid accounts just in case and never used them.

	Wow an Ichiro layout, :D! Thats nice, she was my first favorite before Osa. I wanted to create an Osa layout like fyrie has for her Mariko, but I did my own invention as usual, :D! (Reply to this) (Thread)
