Travel fever and friending issues
Six days before getting on a plane to Budapest is probably a bad time for me to panic about not being able to speak a word of Hungarian, or even pronounce it without consulting a guide. Technically I know we can get by easily between English, German, French and Russian, but my brain is flailing in travel-induced panic.

Otherwise, I got friended by a crowd of people I don't know, again. It's not that I mind people viewing my public posts, but dropping me a note would be nice. As would telling me whether you want me to friend back - locked posts tend to be Real Life ramblings and file-sharing.

Dunno if I'm one of the people you don't know, but I'm Graycat off afp and occasionally #afp. Wether you want to friend me back is entirely up to you, of course :o)

i'd suggest that you make a post and list all those who have friended to you to introduce themselves so that you may have an idea who they are. yeah, troublesome but it should work. ^^"

Hello,

I found you via Metafandom, and read your post on racism and Central Europe a couple of weeks ago. I commented therein that I was damn impressed. I'm one of the people that friended you, and of course you can friend me back. :-) I tend to write lots about comics, politics/current events, art, Italian motorcycles, orchids, history, archaeology, and do regular massive picspams of hotness.

Also, icon love. Oh, Dick. You power the universe with your angsty diatribes.

I've got a bit of travel-jealousy, but not enough to keep from wishing you a damn good time. What will you be doing in Hungary, besides seeing musicals?

Mostly sightseeing. I'm very lucky with exhibitions (Incas, Genghis Khan and Tiffany glass), much less so with musicals, alas, since I'm only catching Tanz (twice). I think I may end up having another trip with [info]fyrie in February-ish, to catch Tanz again and whatever they end up putting on at the two main musical theatres. Hopefully Elisabeth and Phantom of the Opera :)

I'm sure you'll love Hungary once you're there. It's not a real trip without a bit of travel panic just before setting off!

I think I'm a bit better now that my doctor took one look at me and put me on antibiotics ;) I should damn well learn by now that if I flail and panic, there's usually a somatic reason.

Hope you have a good time in Budapest, it's a great city. Don't worry too much about the language thing we did fine there with just English and a phrasebook so you with 4 languages should have no real problems at all. Have fun!

Oh, I forgot, no need to friend me back. I usually don't friend much myself because the friends list kinda drives me crazy for a whole bunch of reasons.
