Japanese advice
I'm thinking of finally changing my Generator layout to one based on this one, but since it'd also involve finally getting an image-themed layout, a question for people knowledgeable with kanji:

Is

an acceptable way to write "Pit of Hell" in kanji?

And no, I'm not descending to quite those lows of fangirl Japanese - it'll be overlaid with the English version of the title.

(And I hope that's the right kanji for "pit", because it's freaking adorable.)

One of the fonts (K? M?) looks like this, for example:

The characters aren't that commmon, and the sentence (天上天下唯雅独尊) is a Buddhist proverb...

That kanji (kubo-mi 凹み) means more like "hollow," "depression" or "dent". The other term my dictionary shows is (ana) 穴, which means "hole" and is probably closer to pit. Although I dunno, Hell Hollow has a certain ring to it, ne?

Hmm, isn't 穴 closer to "cave" or "grave"? I tend to associate it with something long and narrow. I've always taken pit-of-hell to be the lowest of all hells rather than a cave in hell :) 凹地 as "hollow in the earth" (suggested by jisho.org) might be closer, but I might just try the layout with both.

(Kubochi) 窪地 is more of a depression on the ground. (Ana) 穴 may refer to either a cave or a deep pit.
